Indian Pottery Massive Horse Pot

Add to My Yahoo!
I went to the Catawba Indian Reservation yesterday to pick up a few pieces of Catawba Pottery. What a surprise I got. Mr. Earl Robbins the famous Catawba Elder Master potter said he had something to show me. We went in the house and he showed me 2 massive pieces of Catawba Indian Pottery. First was a huge 27 inch Indian canoe with heads on both ends. He then pulled out this tremendous Catawba Pottery Horse Pot. It was just unbelievable. As you can see in the photo it is not quite completed. Earl said he had to rub it some more but should be ready for the burn soon.

Comments:
Wow, I hope it makes it through the fire! Please try and get photos of both pieces when they are burned.

Believe me I'll do my best. Earl's pieces are so rare it would be a shame to miss these.
