Catawba Pottery Flower
Here is a flower created from Catawba Indian Clay. It was made by new potter Chevelle Adams. She has been under my instruction for two years now and is producing some excellent quality pottery. She has a few pieces for sale on our website. This piece is about 5 inches across and 3 inches tall.

Georgia Harris Handled Vase
Here is a vase made by Master Potter Georgia Harris. This workmanship is beyond description. It is one of the finest pieces of Indian Pottery I have held. If you see a piece of her Indian Pottery for sale, I recommend you buy it. It is amazing how proportional it is. The picture doesn't do it justice. You need to see it in person to really appreciate it.

Monty Branham Turtle Effigy
I saw this piece and just had to get a picture. This is a huge and very heavy turtle effigy done by Master Potter Monty Branham. His detail work on this piece is a sight to behold.

Very Old Pottery Bowl
This piece was purchased by Tom Blumer. When it was shipped to him it was one piece but when it arrived it was in many pieces. He glued it back together. What I saw surprised me because I have found a lot of shards in my local area with the very same pattern on them.

1900 Catawba Indian Water Jug
Here is a water jug made about 1900. What caught my eye was the shape of this functional piece. It has more of a melon shape than the current pieces I see. This was filled with water and hung in a tree by the tab then the workers could stop by and get a drink.

1900 Catawba Indian Water Pitcher
Here is another piece from that collection. I found this one interesting for several reasons. First was the thin handle. You rarely see thin handles today. Second was the red and orange colors. Several potters were guessing that some of the local red clay may have gotten mixed into the Catawba clay.

Very Old Catawba Indian Pottery
I went to see a collection of old Catawba Indian Pottery this week-end. I was not disappointed. I was interested in seeing the traditional shapes from the 1900 period. This first one is a canoe with Indian heads on each end. What caught my eye was the scalloped sides. This piece was about 12 inches long and well crafted. None of the pieces were signed.

My Pottery Now Listed
Most of the pieces I intend to sell are now listed on my webpage. There are still a few left but they will be listed in next few days. Some of these are my first work dating back to 1997. This was difficult for me to part with these pieces but I decided to change some things in my life. I hope you enjoy and cherish these pieces as I have over the years. This is sorta like selling part of your soul. Below is one of the pieces still for sale. Just click here to see the pieces.

Marcus Sanders Pottery For Sale
I am going to list my pottery for sale on our website. Some pieces will also be listed for sale on Ebay. All this should start happening in the next day or so. Just keep an eye on my webpage. These pieces are ones that I kept for myself because as I spent so much time working on them I became attached and couldn't part with them. I am really going to make an effort to create more pottery. So along with my project and Monty Branham and Chevelle Adams joining the website I look forward to Catawba Indian Pottery moving up in the world of Native American Pottery and claiming its rightful place. The 3 of us make the highest quality pottery produced today.

Brian and Cheryl had a very good sale. They left shortly after lunch. One of the buyers I was chatting with was lucky enough to get one of Brian's flutes.

Keith "Little Bear" Brown set up his table at the sale and did quite well. He hasn't had much pottery for the website because he has had a lot of success at shows and pow-wow's. He promised he will have some for us real soon.
